Then read our guide and place your bets wisely!
Premier League
Chelsea vs Man City
All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Chelsea host Man City. The Blues famously won the last meeting between these sides at this ground, which handed Liverpool their first league title in 30 years, and Frank Lampard will be hoping for more of the same from his side this time around. The being said, Lamps’ side haven’t been firing on all cylinders as of late and they can’t afford to drop points as they seek to make up ground in the race for a top 4 spot.
Things won’t be plain sailing for them against Man City, however. Although The Citizens haven’t quite been at their swashbuckling best this season, they’ve been picking up points left, right and centre recently and come into this crunch clash on the back of a 10-game unbeaten run. Midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne will be fired up to get one over his former employers and banish memories of his unhappy spell at Stamford Bridge to the dustbin of history. Will he have the last laugh or will the hosts take some of the mounting pressure off their boss with a win?
Burnley vs Fulham
It’s all to play for at Turf Moor this Sunday as Burnley take on Fulham with just 2 points separating these sides at kick-off. Although The Clarets made a disappointing start to the season, they’ve proven very hard to break down as of late. Sean Dyche’s side were arguably very unlucky to lose out against Leeds after dominating the second half and will no doubt fancy their chances of picking up a win on this occasion.
Dropping points is not an option for Fulham either, however. The Cottagers also appear to have turned a corner after a difficult start to life back in the Premier League and have managed to put quite a few points on the board as of late. That being said, Scott Parker’s side need to start turning draws into wins if they are going to stay up. Will they pull it out of the bag here or will they be overcome by Burnley’s physicality and aerial threat?
Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg
It’s crunch time at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday as Borussia Dortmund entertain Wolfsburg. Despite impressing in the Champions League, Die Schwarzgelben have been in disarray on the domestic front. The hosts have only won 1 of their last 5 league matches and a 5-1 home defeat to VFB Stuttgart cost previous manager Lucien Favre his job. That being said, Dortmund will be boosted by the news Erling Haaland is in line to return from injury and they’ll be hoping the Norwegian can fire them to victory on this occasion.
Wolfsburg, however, have hit the ground running in the league this season and are firmly in the hunt for a top 4 spot. Die Wolfe are 2 points ahead of their opponents at kick-off and have only tasted defeat once in the league this season. Will the visitors heap yet more misery on their opponents or will Dortmund have other ideas?
La Liga
Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo
Real Madrid will be eager to pick up all 3 points against Celta Vigo on Saturday as they continue their quest to retain the La Liga title. Despite a somewhat slow start to the season, Los Merengues have hit a rich vein of form recently. Veteran striker Karim Benzema has had his shooting boots on as of late and the Frenchman will no doubt fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet once again.
Things won’t be a cakewalk for them against Celta Vigo, however. The visitors are one of this season’s surprise packages and have also been in good form as of late. What’s more, Real are certainly not unbeatable as they’ve been prone to dropping points at home at times this season. Could an upset be on the cards or will Zidane’s side be too strong for their opponents?
Serie A
Atalanta vs Sassuolo
You’ll be able to cut the tension in the Bergamo air with a knife on Sunday afternoon as Sassuollo travel to the Gewiss Stadium to face Atalanta. Although they haven’t quite managed to hit the dizzy heights of last season, La Dea have put their shaky start to the season behind them and are unbeaten in their last 6 matches in all competitions. What’s more, they also hit 4 past Roma in their last home match and Gasperini will be hoping for a repeat performance this time around.
Victory is far from a formality against Sassuolo, however. The visitors have lost just 2 of their first 14 league games this season and are in the running to secure a top 4 spot. With so much at stake, will they get a result or will Atalanta put them to the sword?
